These software tools scan a range of IP Address to discover the live devices in the given IP address range. I thought it had to do with a specific firmware, but I brought up a switch in the lab, got it to the firmware of the problem switches and was able to poll it just fine. I think it started after a Lansweeper update but I'm not sure which version it was. Did you ever get this figured out? I'm fighting this with a few of my HP switches.
